In orbit calibration of the non-orthogonality of the two fluxgate sensors onboard CSES

Abstract With the accumulation of data, it is possible to study long-term variation Fluxgate Magnetometers (FGM) High Precision Magnetometer (HPM) onboard China Seismo-Electromagnetic Satellite (CSES). The calibration method HPM depends on an assumption that linear parameters FGM, including gain factors, offsets, and non-orthogonal angles are stable. However, exhibits some unexpected trends in scalar residuals when processed according assumption. Study residual finds out under changing space thermal conditions, FGM change periodically, suggesting data we used before should be modified. A multi-dimensional polynomial model established for defining as a function sun incidence angles, geographic latitude sensor temperature. Apply from August 2018 May 2021, standard deviation reduced around 0.5 nT tends more random line with normal distribution. Meanwhile, trend factors offset eliminated. Results show can correctly reflect period conditions. Graphical
